Research Interests: Methodology and Application in Liquid State NMR

Development of liquid state NMR methods for a complete description of protein dynamics: Although state-of-the-art methods characterize motions of isolated bond vectors, concerted dynamics of larger spin networks is still poorly understood.

Design of pulse sequences (TROSY experiments, selection of individual transitions, 13C-detection spectroscopy): Large molecular tumbling times severely restrict the applicability of liquid state NMR to important systems such as membrane proteins or large proteins.
