Default Search Syntax

Searching with Glob-Style Matching

If the glob-style matching checkbox is selected, individual patterns will be matched according each word in an entry using the following rules:

? The question mark character matches any single character.
* The asterisk matches any sequence of zero or more characters.
[chars] A sequence of characters in square brackets matches any single character in the sequence. If chars contains a sequence of the form a-b then any character in the range between a and b (inclusive) will match.
\x Using a backslash followed by character matches that character.
