Default Search Syntax

• Patterns are mached against full or partial words. For example, searching with pattern reson will return all entries which include reson, including entries with words such as resonate and resonance.
  
  
• Two or more search patterns can be combined with the upper-case keywords: AND OR XOR. For example, the following will search for entries which include both kontaxis and delaglio:

      kontaxis AND delaglio
  

• The default search action for multiple patterns is OR. For example, these two searchs will both return all entries which contain either relax or spin:

      relax spin
      relax OR spin
  

• A pattern can be negated by including an exclaimation point ! as the first character, with no space characters after. For example, the following will search for entries which include kontaxis but not delaglio:

      kontaxis AND !delaglio
  

Searching with Glob-Style Matching

If the glob-style matching checkbox is selected, individual patterns will be matched according each word in an entry using the following rules:

?	The question mark character matches any single character.
*	The asterisk matches any sequence of zero or more characters.
[chars]	A sequence of characters in square brackets matches any single character in the sequence. If chars contains a sequence of the form a-b then any character in the range between a and b (inclusive) will match.
\x	Using a backslash followed by character matches that character.
